FAQ

We offer workshops to schools, youth and community groups, universities and colleges. These workshops will promote and encourage Deaf culture, whilst teaching a variety of Deaf Theatre techniques and storytelling. Workshops are available to Deaf, hearing and mixed groups. We are happy to send you a copy of our guidelines FAQ.

Q: Pricing Method?

These guidelines are for individual workshops specifically designed to meet your needs. If we are working with you on a partnership project, which has been planned at least 6 months in advance, we can apply for extra funding to share the cost. However, we assess each request on an individual basis, where necessary taking into account your requirements and financial resources.

Q: How much does a workshop cost?

The overall cost depends on the length of the workshop, how many staff is required to run it and any additional expenses, as explained below. We will add 25% overhead to these costs to pay for administration and preparation for workshops under £500 and 10% to those over this amount.

Q: How much does it cost to hire 1 workshop leader?

We will charge £125 for 3 hours minimum for one workshop leader/facilitator. If the workshop duration is over 3 hours, you will be charged a full day fee. For two workshop leaders/facilitators, DRoots will charge you £112.50 each for 3 hours minimum. For three workshop leaders/facilitators, DRoots will charge you £100.00 each for 3 hours minimum. However, we may also require certain overheads to be paid on top. See previous.

Q: Are there any other costs?

Depending on the workshop location and duration, we may ask you to provide travel, meal or accommodation expenses. We will charge 10% profits margin on top of the total fee; – this only applies to profit-making business organisations. Those who are not-for-profit organisations (Charity/community bodies) will not be charged this additional fee.

Q: What kind of materials would we need for a workshop?

Often we require materials such as paper, pens and pencils (writing and colouring). Occasionally we may need other resources, but if you cannot provide these materials for any reason then we will do our best to help.

Q: When and how do we pay you?

When we have invoiced you, we will expect to receive a cheque/BACS within three weeks. If we have not received this from you we will unfortunately have to add an extra 10% for every overdue month.
