Welcome to DRoots website.

DRoots is a professional Deaf-led theatre company works with variety Deaf/mainstream communities around in London and UK. DRoots is a unique presence, aiming to produce groundbreaking and dynamic work through specialist work/project to aspire, expertise and empower variety group of Deaf adult to Children. We are currently ongoing through with the overall implementation & modifying under a new strategy, legalisation status and programme growth for provision workshop service, art programme and community projects.

Theatre Access Officer

£30 per hour – 6 hours per a week (variations hours)

DRoots are looking to appoint an experienced Communication Support Worker to assist and support Artistic Director. There is no application we only request your CV. Job Description can be emailed or posted to you if you contact steve@droots.co.uk.

The closing date will be end of September.

Interviews will take place with the arrangement of Artistic Director.

DRoots Database

We are currently expanding our Database for Actors, Stage Managers, Lighting Designers, Stage Designers and Costume Designers for future production/project work. A CV/Profile is required along with an A4 or A5 photo. This can be forwarded by email or post. We are also encouraging requests for work experience. Shotgun Wedding – Theatre Promo

We have linked the promo of our recent success project ‘Shotgun Wedding’ production where it was performed at ALRA Theatre last July. ‘The Acting on Stage’ course for young Deaf people partnership project with ALRA (Academy Live of Recording Arts) was to give twelve young Deaf people across UK to have the opportunity to work along with 2 professional Deaf actors over two weeks course with a written script. ALRA ‘Acting on Stage’ course

ALRA and DRoos Theatre has announced that there will be a ‘Acting on Stage’ course on 5th – 17th July.

This is for young Deaf / BSL users, who will have an opportunity to experience the professional standard in theatre and will be interested in becoming a professional actor.

The audition day will be on Saturday 10th April or 8th May 2010.
